WALNUT DISPLAY TABLE
Off to a great start in veneering.
SHOP OWNER: Ken Winningham
LOCATION: Killeen, TX
This small display table was my first serious attempt at veneer work. I veneered all the surfaces with walnut and anigre veneers. The legs are poplar veneered with walnut, and the top is MDF veneered with an anigre center field and walnut crossband. The edges are vertical grain walnut.
Having never attempted any veneer work before I used this piece as a learning tool. Boy did I learn! For every success I had I had two failures. It allowed me to develop a better understanding of veneer and what it takes to work with it.
Thanks to Ellis and Lee G. for the advice and encouragement which they gave. Although this piece isn't perfect, it's a step forward for me. It has also given me the confidence and desire to explore veneer work further.. . . Ken Winningham
