CHERRY KNEELING BENCHES
The inspiration came from an older bench used for years.

I recently completed two new kneeler/prayer stations for Trinity Episcopal Church in Solebury, PA. Primarily built from local cherry, the inspiration came from a very old kneeler in the church. Needlepoint cushions will be added for comfort during use. For the finish, I applied seven coats of Waterlox, sanding between coats with 400-grit and steel wool. I followed with Butcher's wax and finally Briwax and buffed. Although you can't see from these pictures, the tops have a wonderful marbling that you can occasionally find in cherry wood.. . .
