Walnut Dresser

WALNUT DRESSER
After 19 years in storage, this walnut finds a purpose.

SHOP OWNER: Del Schisler
LOCATION: Port St. Lucie, FL

I made this dresser from walnut that I cut 19 years ago. In that time, the wood was stored and survived several moves, so I figured it was finally time to use it.
I used a stile and rail cutter around the mirror, the case frames, and the doors. I cut the pieces on my Delta band saw. The flame figure in the door panels comes from the same tree. The drawer has blind dovetails and the bottom is inch-thick oak. I used cabinet grade lacquer for the finish. I also made the small table next to the dresser.
