LIFE POOL SCOREBOARD
Just the ticket for a game of Old English Pool.
SHOP OWNER: Brian Bushfield
LOCATION: Balzac, Alberta, Canada
This is a replica of a circa 1910 scoreboard I borrowed from my elderly neighbor. Rules for this game can be found by using “life pool” in a search on the Internet. While his was oak, mine is from white maple. Construction was quite time consuming (about 150 hours), but the results seem to be worth it.
This scoreboard was made from approximately 150 pieces of maple I cut from three 8/4 boards. Some of the parts are only 1/16th thick. It is finished with a stain I got from the pool table store where I bought my table. I then completed the finish using some Lee Valley Polymerized Tung Oil. Markers inside the original game were Mother of Pearl; I used uncirculated 2004 nickels.. . . Brian Bushfield
