Building life-sized props for a haunted house.
SHOP OWNER: Mike Echterling
LOCATION: Highland, IN
We did some work for the Reaper's Realm haunted house in Hammond, where we designed and built the funniest projects. Where else do you get a chance to make a nine-foot tall rocking horse? This rocking horse is the centerpiece of a room full of life-sized toys, which includes giant bunk beds, a huge toy box, full-size plastic army men, and a Raggedy Andy costume. We built the rocking horse and had it painted by another professional, who always makes things look that much better.
After developing rheumatoid arthritis and undergoing surgery to replace both knees, I can't work more than three hours at a time. My brother, Jason, has been working with me for more than a year now. He's the brawn of the operation and I'm the brain! To see more of our work, visit our web site.. . . Mike Echterling
