FOR THE BIRDS
A fun project any woodoworker could tackle.
SHOP OWNER: Roman Mann
LOCATION: Barrie, Ontario, Canada
With the price of raw materials going through the roof, I thought I would bang together something with all the junk and scrap that I had around. Since thereís a gazillion woodworkers out there; some with big fancy shops, some with the most basic tools, some big and some small, hereís a project anyone can build with the most rudimentary of tools in a very limited space.
The materials I used are simply some scraps of barn board, plywood, an old cedar post, copper, and old nails. Quick and easy, mistakes seem to hide themselves because the eye is distracted and bounces from top to bottom. The townhouse complex for birds also has a few units that hold plants. Itís a great garden piece to compliment any yard or pond, and it should look nice with clematis growing up the post. After years of wind, rain, and sun and the copper ages to that infamous green, it should finally be ready.. . . Roman Mann
