This woodworker's been busy making sawdust!

LOCATION: Wilson, NC
A client, who does genealogy as a hobby, commissioned me to make a cherry bookcase for her. She has many three ring binders full of family history and needed a place to house them. I had to work to a specific height dimension so everything evolved around that height.
I dovetailed the carcass together, top and bottom, and made the base molding, dental molding, and cove molding for the top. The door design closely followed an entertainment center she had in her den. I made the shelves out of ¾” birch plywood faced with cherry.
Here are some more shots of my recent works. The first is an old pine dresser for my wife.
I made this Rackley chest for my wife from Mahogany pallets I got from my previous employer. The case and drawers feature hand cut dovetailed joints.
I built this poplar chest for a client. It was originally going to be painted but once the clients saw it they insisted on staining it, stating it was too nice to paint!. . . Mike Shelley
