A PRESSING SOLUTION
Veneering large radial surfaces can be difficult.

I recently built this entertainment unit using hard maple veneer. Construction of the curved doors required the use of a two-part press. I made presses for the doors, the drawer fronts, the interior drawer fronts, and the kick plate. For the curved top and bottom sections, I used a vacuum press.
The doors, which open over a large radius, have custom stainless steel inserts for handles. The two sides have glass shelves so that the overhead lighting can effectively permeate through the cabinet creating a soft light. With the doors in the open position, the light reflects sideways, making TV viewing easier on the eyes.
I adapted the design for this entertainment unit from a much smaller single cabinet with the two doors. I hope you enjoy viewing this as much as I enjoyed building it.. . . Roman Mann
