A nice solution for stashing trash out of sight.

I made this oak trashcan container for a friend of mine. She wanted to give one to her daughter for Christmas. Made entirely from Ĺ-inch oak plywood, I faced the edges with solid oak trim. The dimensions allow a thirteen-gallon kitchen garbage can and bag to fit inside easily.
To speed along the finishing process and make things simple, I chose a product with both stain and topcoat finish. I used Olympicís One Step Finish in Honey Oak and polished with paste wax. I think the stain complements my friendís oak kitchen cabinets very well. This is only my second woodworking project, and I am looking forward to many more.. . . Kenneth Church
