PURPLE HEART JEWELRY BOX
Making good use of that scrap wood we all have lying around.
SHOP OWNER: Lou Siville
LOCATION: Norristown, PA
Typically, I make humidors and jewelry boxes from my many stacks of scrap and cut-off wood. These photos show a jewelry box made from some of that wood that I had lying around my shop.
Most of the box is purple heart. The top panel is ½-inch plywood with quilted maple veneer on top and bottom. The banding material I used is faux pearl and the very amateurish intarsia on the top is from green poplar and bloodwood. Brusso hinges hold the top onto the box.
I have also enclosed a few pictures of my workshop to share with you.. . . Lou Siville
