From sketchbook to living room in one easy step
SHOP OWNER: Michael Byck
LOCATION: Field, BC, Canada
This walnut and leather chair was one of my last works while attending the fine woodworking program at Selkirk College, where they looked down on "winging" any project. We were taught to sketch, draft, make cutting lists and plan the critical path of our work prior to commencing.
This chair went right from the sketch book to cutting "the good stuff." Let me tell you there were a few raised brows, but in the end I think I turned out to be one of my best works.
