ONE MAN'S JUNK IS ANOTHER MAN'S TREASURE
A friend's visit yields a nice cache of redwood lumber.

A year ago a friend of mine stopped by the house with a truck full of yard junk that he was taking to the dump. After visiting a while he walked back to his truck to leave. It was then I noticed it was half full of what looked like rough redwood. It turned out to be about thirty pieces, three to four foot long, between two inches by four inch and two inches by fourteen-inch rough boards. It turns out they came from a garage that was built during the 40's. Needless to say they did not make it to the dump. Here is a photo of a tile top table that I made with some of the wood. I applied six sprayed coats of a clear marine finish, which should keep it looking nice for a while.
