Here is a shot of one of the mantels I make for a local fireplace store. It's made of poplar wood with a mahogany stain and a lacquer finish. I apply all my stains and finishes with an HVLP system.
I have never counted but I think I make about 50 to 60 or more mantels a year, mostly stock mantels that fit around freestanding gas fireboxes. This one is a custom job.. . . The mantelguy,
